    We’re a disruptive new law firm, made up of tech-savvy lawyers making legal services more affordable and accessible for Australian startups and small businesses. We’re currently on the hunt for commercial lawyers with 2+ years’ experience, who are looking for a unique and truly flexible role in a growing startup law firm.

    sprintlaw is built on the idea that lawyers should be able to have both a rewarding career and a fulfilling life outside of work. We’ve seen too many lawyers that have spilled blood, sweat and tears to become experts in their fields, only to be rewarded with long and thankless working days in a depressing work environment. Not to mention the lack of flexibility and autonomy in the job!

    Real flexibility – Sick of cancelling your evening and weekend plans because work is so unpredictable? Well, we’ve taken the idea of a ‘flexible workplace’ to the next level. Communication and project management is core to our business, which allows us to work as a cohesive team unit, no matter where we are. This means that you can work from wherever and whenever – as long you get your job done. Our lawyers spend around half their work hours working remotely, whether it’s from home, interstate or even overseas!

    Autonomy – We believe that the most rewarding part of being a lawyer is working with clients and helping them solve problems. We’ve seen so many lawyers spending their time doing back-office grunt work and never seeing the fruits of their labour. At sprintlaw, we give our lawyers complete autonomy to work directly with clients. While you’ll always have the entire sprintlaw team to support you, there’s no layer of ‘partner approval’ between you and the client – you’ll be the key point of contact, and it’s your show!

    Work with a purpose – Do you ever reflect on why you became a lawyer in the first place? I bet it wasn’t to complete time sheets, chasing your secretary for receipts and filing endless piles of paper. We recognise that all of this admin that comes with being a lawyer is a waste of time and we’ve automated most of this boring stuff. Instead, the lawyers at sprintlaw get to focus on the things that matter – such as speaking to clients and solving actual legal problems – and be part of a team that is changing the way legal services are delivered.

  • THE ROLE

    You’ll be in charge of running your own legal matters from beginning to end. The type of work will depend on your area of expertise, but our services include contract drafting, corporate advice, employment law, reviewing leases, registering trademarks and business sales.

    The clients you’ll be helping out will generally be small business owners and startup entrepreneurs, in industries such as technology, eCommerce, hospitality, retail, media, fashion and finance.

    Legal technology and efficiency plays a central role at sprintlaw, so you’ll also be involved in improving our in-house technology and business processes.

    Our firm is powered by automation technology – which has allowed us to cut out all the time wasting, paper pushing and administration that are all too common at traditional law firms and replace it with automated work flows. This allows our lawyers to focus on doing what they’re best at doing – advising clients and solving legal problems!

  • YOUR SKILLS

    Your legal skills should be well developed and we expect you to be comfortable advising clients without supervision. Specialist experience (especially in corporate, banking, employment, real property, franchising or intellectual property) is a bonus, but not required.

    We also are after people who are:

    • Tech-savvy – be able to operate the various technology platforms we use
    • Personable – be able to easily explain and communicate complex legal concepts to clients
    • Independent – comfortable working without supervision
    • Efficient – we’re after people who know how to move quickly and get things done

  • THE WORKPLACE

    We’re based in The Commons co-working space (20-40 Meagher St, Chippendale NSW 2008), and share the space with a community of creative and innovative businesses. Some of the features of the space include: a wellness program, a photography studio, a maker space, a podcast studio, and an outdoor basketball court – all of which are available to our staff.

    In addition, our firm uses a cloud based system and we support working remotely wherever possible. Why waste time commuting when you could be productive and get things done instead!
