FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Unsure about how we work? We have gathered the most common questions for your convenience.
That usually comes up when the other party has already produced the contract and you need help responding to it, rather than replacing it entirely. For example, you may have been sent a supplier agreement, SaaS contract, services agreement, licence or partnership document with terms that are mostly non-negotiable in structure but still open to comment. In that situation, the value is often in identifying the clauses that matter most, deciding what to push back on, and preparing a sensible fallback position rather than commissioning a full redraft from page one.
The answer often depends on where the real commercial exposure sits. Common priorities include liability caps, indemnities, payment timing, termination rights, automatic renewals, exclusivity, intellectual property ownership, confidentiality, service levels and acceptance criteria. Sometimes a clause looks standard but has a major effect once it is applied to your deal model, revenue expectations or delivery obligations. We help sort the high-impact issues from the lower-value comments, so you can go back with a shorter and more commercially credible list of proposed changes.
It is helpful to provide the current draft contract, any mark-up already exchanged, and a short note on the commercial context. That might include the deal value, what is being bought or supplied, any deadlines, and the clauses you are already concerned about. If there are heads of terms or key emails that explain the background, those can also help. Good context makes it easier to separate legal risk from commercial preference and to suggest negotiation points that fit the deal rather than reading as generic objections.
Most clients use the advice to prepare their next mark-up, email response or call with the other party. In some cases, the next step may be to accept certain clauses, push harder on a small number of key terms, or ask for a revised draft that better reflects the commercial bargain. If the matter expands into multiple documents, specialist regulatory issues or direct lawyer-led negotiations, that would usually sit outside this fixed-fee. Additional support can be arranged separately if the deal becomes more involved than first expected.
You receive a lawyer consultation, a review of the contract you are negotiating, and practical advice on the key legal and commercial issues raised by that document. You will also get a summary of recommended changes or talking points to use in your next discussion with the counterparty. This service is intended to help you negotiate more effectively, not to take over the entire transaction. Direct involvement in multiple negotiation rounds, full document rewrites or broader deal management would need separate scoping if required.
As an online law firm, we eliminate the headaches of paying us by the hour and finding time to meet with a lawyer in person. We charge a fixed fee, with upfront quotes and transparent pricing, and communicate via phone, email and video chat - whichever suits you! You'll be guided through our process by our expert lawyers, who are Australian-qualified and specialise in technology, intellectual property, contract drafting, corporate and commercial law.
At Sprintlaw, our pricing is transparent and designed for startups and small businesses. Many one-off legal services, including document drafting and reviews, are provided for a fixed fee with an upfront quote before you proceed.
Prices typically range from $250 to $2,500 AUD depending on the complexity and scope of the work. For ongoing support, Sprintlaw Memberships include options such as legal templates, consultations, a legal helpline and credits for services.
If your project is larger or more complex, we will provide a tailored quote after understanding what you need.
Our law firm operates completely online, which means we can help you wherever you are in Australia. We work at The Commons Central - a cool co-working space in Chippendale, Sydney - but our lawyers often work flexibly across various locations.
Our lawyers also work from co-working spaces and home offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, so clients can get help online without needing to meet in person.
