Unsure about how we work? We have gathered the most common questions for your convenience.
This service is useful for businesses preparing a campaign, updating website copy, launching a product, testing stronger promotional messaging or running a short-term offer that could influence customer decisions. It can also suit agencies or in-house marketing teams that want legal input on a small number of high-impact claims before publication. The review is not tied to one industry. What matters is whether the wording touches on price, savings, quality, performance, results, urgency, comparisons or prize-based promotions, because those are the areas where a claim can attract closer scrutiny.
We look at the overall impression created by the claim, not just whether a sentence sounds technically accurate in isolation. Common issues include absolute statements that are hard to support, discount language that leaves out key conditions, performance claims with weak evidence, testimonials that overstate likely results, and qualifications that are hidden or too vague. We also check whether the surrounding copy changes the meaning of the headline. If the campaign involves a promotion or prize element, we may flag where separate terms or further legal review may be needed.
Often, yes. A promotion can raise issues that go beyond the headline claim itself, especially where entry mechanics, prize draws, eligibility rules, winner selection or disclosure wording are involved. Permit requirements can vary depending on where and how the promotion runs, and the terms need to reflect the actual promotion mechanics and prize structure. Approval depends on the relevant regulator or authority, and requirements and timeframes can vary by jurisdiction. This review can identify those pressure points, but it does not include permit applications or regulator dealings unless separately scoped.
Please send the exact claims you want reviewed, together with the surrounding material in which they appear. That might include screenshots, landing pages, social ads, email copy, product pages, offer terms, disclaimers and any creative that changes the context of the statement. It also helps to include the evidence you rely on, such as testing, pricing history, customer data, supplier information or comparison material. The more context we can see, the easier it is to assess the impression a customer is likely to take away from the campaign as a whole.
You receive written comments on the nominated claims, including the main legal concerns and any wording changes or next-step suggestions. If the issues are relatively contained, you may simply update the copy and proceed with the campaign. If the review uncovers broader concerns, such as the need for competition terms, a pricing review or a larger website copy review, we can outline those options separately. The service includes one round of follow-up questions by email so you can clarify the advice before deciding whether any further legal work is needed.
As an online law firm, we eliminate the headaches of paying us by the hour and finding time to meet with a lawyer in person. We charge a fixed fee, with upfront quotes and transparent pricing, and communicate via phone, email and video chat - whichever suits you! You'll be guided through our process by our expert lawyers, who are Australian-qualified and specialise in technology, intellectual property, contract drafting, corporate and commercial law.
At Sprintlaw, our pricing is transparent and designed for startups and small businesses. Many one-off legal services, including document drafting and reviews, are provided for a fixed fee with an upfront quote before you proceed.
Prices typically range from $250 to $2,500 AUD depending on the complexity and scope of the work. For ongoing support, Sprintlaw Memberships include options such as legal templates, consultations, a legal helpline and credits for services.
If your project is larger or more complex, we will provide a tailored quote after understanding what you need.
Our law firm operates completely online, which means we can help you wherever you are in Australia. We work at The Commons Central - a cool co-working space in Chippendale, Sydney - but our lawyers often work flexibly across various locations.
Our lawyers also work from co-working spaces and home offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, so clients can get help online without needing to meet in person.
