WHAT’S IT FOR?

If you looking to extend your lease term, you’ll be required to negotiate and sign an Extension of Lease/Variation of Lease. An Extension of Lease/Variation of Lease creates binding legal obligations between you and the landlord that may last for many years. It covers important matters including the length of the extension of the lease, termination rights, defects management, outgoings, fit-out works, limits on use of the premises, sub-letting, and other rights and responsibilities of the landlord and tenant. It is important you engage a lawyer to ensure you are appropriately protected.
