PROPERTY LICENCE AGREEMENT
WHAT’S IT FOR?
A Property Licence Agreement is an agreement allowing a licensee to access property on certain agreed terms. It is often used as a flexible alternative to a lease agreement, which can be used for properties such as shared office spaces, movable homes or cabins and holiday rentals.
Unlike a lease agreement, a license agreement can be easily varied and terminated and it is subject to less regulations than the lease agreement. However, it does not generally provide the licensee with as strong a right to the property as they would have as a tenant under a lease. If you are licensing a premises, it’s important to have all the key legal and commercial terms recorded in a Property Licence Agreement.
